Thanksgiving, Share the Love!

Well, it's almost time for Thanksgiving!  The time of year that everyone eats their fill until the button in their pants is about to pop!  Unless, you're wearing something with elastic, which is the easier route.  I think a lot of people forget what Thanksgiving can be about.  Of course it's to follow the tradition of the pilgrims and indians coming together, and to gather with family and friends and to pig out on great food!  However, I think a lot of people forget the thankful part.  What are we thankful for?  So many people these days are in a hurry.  They become forgetful to be greatful for the things that they have or are allowed to do.  Instead we rush around, always in a hurry and forget to be kind to others, we want what we want right now-no exceptions!  We are in such a hurry to get that parking spot up front that we cut the lady off who was patiently waiting for it.  We see people approaching a cross walk and roll through the stop sign to hurry past instead of patiently waiting 20 seconds to let them get across, as if 20 seconds will kill us.  Then, when it's our turn we have the attitude of "I can take as long as I want, I'm the pedestrian and have the right of way."  We become demanding, "Now, Now, I want what I want and I want it NOW!" attitude.
So I ask all of us this season to reflect on ourselves for the few days surrounding Thanksgiving.  Let someone cross a cross walk.  Let someone with one item go ahead of you in line when you have 50 items, if something is working out don't be a bully-try being polite instead, if it takes a minute to get something rather than the immediatness you expected then have patience that one time.  See how it makes you feel.  Be thankful for what we have.  Show others that you're thankful and see the response you get.  I bet it will be a good one!
